MY $10 Laundry Room Makeover

Ok. So here it is. After many weeks of planning, plotting, and hair pulling I have finally finished my Laundry Room. Is it my dream laundry room? No. Is it comparable to my inspiration pictures? No. Did it turn out well for having spent $10? YES!!!

Lets Break It Down…

Michael threw these together in 5 minutes! (seriously) We had some extra wood in our garage so he indulged me. What’s great about these shelves is we didn’t need to attach them to the wall. We don’t know how long we will be living here, so we didn’t want to make anything too permanent aka make giant holes in the drywall.

I was sick of ALL the white so I hacked away at some fabric I had lying around, and pinned it up. It was free and not permanent… so it worked.

Found these patches of rug for $1 total! They are individual pieces, but have this magnetic plastic on the bottom which keeps them from sliding. I tossed them on the floor and *POOF* I have a wannabe runner.

{Yes that is my toe in the botom of the picture? Why does it looke deformed and red? I… don’t… know…}

With the top shelf, I decided to get my extra serving dishes out of the cupboards and put them up there until I get my kitchen hutch. I don’t use them often and I needed the extra cupboard space for my new food processor, and my husbands HEAT WAVE COOKER.

{Please excuse the weird lighting in every picture. I snapped them on different days and had different lighting. Plus my photo skills are lacking.}

In conclusion, my Laundry Room is a definite improvement, but still isn’t FABULOUS. In the future when I get to build a house and don’t have to worry about leaving holes in the wall, I will create the most amazing LR in the WORLD!!! Until then… my $10 makeover will have to do.

xoxo

Keighley - It is a little too “Arts & Crafty” for my taste, but it is a huge improvement. I found these wonderful storage bins at IKEA but couldn’t get myself to buy them for my Laundry Room!

Marta - Hey! Very nice! I am totally impressed with your $10 makeover. I’m embarking on a mini-LR-makeover and googled images of others – found yours. You really inspired me! Thanks!
