CTR: Update your Kitchen

Are you getting tired of the decor look of your kitchen? How about doing a few things to update your kitchen without going to a lot of expense?

Here’s some ideas…

Change the walls

By using paint or wallpaper you can totally change the look of your kitchen without going to the expense of a total remodel. Go bold if your kitchen cabinetry is white.

Switch out a light

Replace old and outdated light fixtures with a chandelier-install a dimmer and create a totally different mood in your kitchen.

Or add additional lighting over an island.

Paint the cabinets

It’s amazing how much a kitchen’s look will change when you paint the cabinets.

Add new hardware

If you want to change the “style” of you kitchen trying changing out the hardware. It might be the only thing you have to do.

Upgrade appliances

If your appliances are outdated-changing them will instantly update you kitchen.

Bring in extra storage

See if you can fit an island or some shelves in your kitchen. It’s practical as well.

How about an island on wheels?

Or shelves mixed with the things you use?

Change up the floors

Consider changing the flooring in your kitchen if yours is outdated.

And if you don’t want to go to the trouble of replacing it all…

Just change the rug.

Mix up the accessories

Even moving around the accesories you already have in your kitchen will make a big difference. Here’s some things that you can use to accessorize this area:

Tin bins, lamps, bowls with fruit and small appliances…

Decorative dishes and fresh flowers…

Artwork, clocks and corner hutches…

or decorative pottery.
