CTR: Master the Bathroom…

When you decide to do the design and decor of your bathroom there’s a few things to keep in mind when mastering the bath.

You need to have a plan: whether it’s a powder room or a master bath you’ve got to know what the exact measurements are in the room. Whether it’s a vanity or a tub-if you’re 1/2 inch off it won’t fit. So make sure that you have a floor plan and take measurements of everything.

The first place to start is with the color. Don’t be afraid to use the colors that you like- even if they are bold. Also keep in mind the look and feel that you are trying to achieve because your color will play a big role.

The next thing to take into consideration are the focal points of the room-which are usually the vanity and mirror. When you open the bathroom door this is what you will most likely see-so make it fabulous.

Think about the kind of lighting that you have in your bathroom. Most bathrooms have a combination of both natural and artifical light. Carefully select the kind of lighting that you put at the vanity because it can make a big difference in how you look in your bathroom. If directly overhead it could create shadows-not always the most flattering.

Determine what decorative items you will put into the bathroom…these are the little things that add style to your room. They personalize this space and give it a distinct look and feel. So focus on find things like…

Artwork-small collectibles- textiles-plants or flowers

Ashley - Hey mom, could you do up my bathrooms! Oh, and could you pay for it too. Cool bathrooms seem to cost a lot but they sure are fun to look at.
