Hurricane Season

Like Camberley mentioned yesterday, I also bought some glass hurricanes/vases at the Dollar Tree. I was wanting to use my vintage spools somewhere in my Fall Decor and the $2 hurricanes provided a cheap and convenient container. Not wanting to go overboard and take away from the spools, I decided a band of ribbon and some buttons would do.  It’s definitely not perfect (don’t look at the pictures too closely) but it will fill in the empty spaces on my future FALL console table.

Step Breakdown

1.) Hot glue ribbon or trim around hurricane

I started gluing from the back and worked my way around the sides until the two ends met in the front.

I glued every 1- 1.5 inches

2.) Hot glued three buttons down the front.

Make sure that you glue around the edge of the buttons or the glue will seep through the holes.

3.) Pat yourself on the back that it only took you 10 minutes!

Price Breakdown

~ Spools from a previous purchase = Free

~ Two hurricanes from the Dollar Tree = $2

~ Burlap trim from Walmart = $.67 yd

~ Metal Buttons from Walmart = $2.20

Grand Total =  $4.87
