Lately, I’ve really been loving the marbled/watercolor trend. I think it’s because I’ve been painting more often. The swirls, textures, and flaws are so beautiful. Since we are kicking off Halloween 2011 decor here at Fancy House Road, I thought I’d try marbleizing some mason jars. Luckily I had all the supplies in my office closet. If you want to try something similar, I suggest the following:
Design-free pint sized mason jars = $1.47 ea.
Acrylic craft paints (I used Apple Barrel paints) = $.40-$3.00 depending on size and where you get them!
Artificial flowers= $1 bunches at the Dollar Tree
Black Spray paint to lightly coat flowers= $2
This is an extremely simple craft. Essentially you just twirl, twist, and shake the paint around your mason jars. Once you’ve allowed at least 24 hours of drying, add your flowers! I think some spooky ribbon or tags tied around the jars would add an extra something.
