One of the things that inspired me to do my post on Folk Christmas Decor was a pack of Christmas Art Cards that I picked up at IKEA last weekend. There was something about these cards that made me smile. The price tag didn’t hurt either.
I’ve been staring at these cards all week trying to think of a simple way to dress them up for Christmas and I came up with a quick and easy solution — turn them into a garland.
I whipped out my old snowflake ribbon (which kind of has a folk feel to it), hole punched the top of the art cards, and tied the cards to the snowflake ribbon with small red ribbon. Lastly, I finished the garland off by tying a jingle bell to each card. Easy, right?
My friend Liz mentioned an idea to me yesterday that I thought would work really well with a garland like this. She said that she saves all of the Christmas Cards she receives from friends/family over the holidays and was thinking about hanging them up on her Christmas Tree this year. I thought doing a garland like this would be another fun way to display Christmas cards. You could string the garland up like this in your house, or incorporate it into your Christmas tree .
Do you have a clever way of displaying Christmas Cards? I’d love to hear your ideas!
