I recently came across a beautiful blog post about DIY clay ornaments. Although I usually venture clear from “copying” concepts I’ve seen elsewhere, I couldn’t resist making some of these for myself. After I completed my ornaments I decided that I had to share this craft. (Unless you’re Da Vinci… if you really think about it, everything is usually mimicked or inspired by another idea. Right?)

So with full credit for my craft going to Sania Pell At Home, I present my baked clay ornaments!

Side note: Being that I wanted to make these the day I came across the idea, I settled for kids crafting clay at my local craft store. It may not be the best quality, but I only paid $5 for a pound. I also didn’t spend much time cutting out rectangles… At first I was disappointed by my haphazardly cut ornaments, but once they were strung and hung, I was glad they all look a bit rough. If you are looking for something more precise, try cookie cutters.

Hey Keighley, I just discovered your lovely blog. Sweet! Love the simple clay ornaments. Really into the simple trends that are around for xmas, lots of natural colours and materials with simple monochromatic color schemes. Bliss.
