One of the perks of living is Arizona is that I have a backyard full of citrus trees. At anytime I can walk outside and pick fruit from my trees. So when I read that Pantone’s 2012 Color of the Year is called Tangerine Tango I couldn’t help myself. I went outside and stood under my tree to see just want color they’d selected and to see if I liked the latest and greatest color.
Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute calls this color: “Sophisticated but at the same time dramatic and seductive, Tangerine Tango, is an orange with a lot of depth to it.” What do you think? Will you use this color in your home decor anytime soon?
Eiseman further explains what makes this color of orange unique: “Reminiscent of the radiant shadings of a sunset, Tangerine Tango, marries the vivaciousness and adrenaline rush of red with the friendliness and warmth of yellow, to form a high-visibility, magnetic hue that emanates heat and energy.” Translated that means: its a darker color of orange that’s not in the least bit boring.
My verdict on Tangerine Tango: Love. It. Alot!

I’m not a huge fan of orange. But I can’t deny that this hue is quite a delicious. Might be great for a cocktail or a manicure but I think it’s too overbearing as a wall colour.

Been obsessed with this color for a while now! YUM.
Tangerine Tango is pretty awesome…almost as awesome Pantone Mimosa (2009)
Love the color Mimosa as well-the perfect yellow because it’s got just a hint of red undertones.
This orange is so versatile-I’m finding my obsession for this color is growing as well!
This is also a great color for decor accessories! But I’m loving the idea of using it for my next pedicure. Thanks for the idea…
