Isn’t there a saying that the only thing constant in life is change?
That’s especially true when it comes to interior decor trends. Just when you fall in love with the current styles, High Point Market comes around where they introduce the latest and greatest design fashions. This fall’s fashion forward trends are a reinvention of some very timeless and traditional styles.
Today we take our first look at what Home Accents Today is calling the first look:
Aegean Odyssey
Colors include Dark Blue and Turquoise (think taking a Mediterranean cruise and the deep blue waters and white houses you’d see in your journeys). With this look you combine rattan and bone with designs from classical antiquity. If you’re daring add a little nautical flair to the look. And a little Greek design element as well.
Traditional inlay bone chairs with simplified patterns and linen fabric seats.
Hemp rope wrapped around a linen drum lamp pendant.
A tonal melange of cool blue hues that mimic the color of Mediterranean water.
A litte nautical flair with a blue chain linked patterned rug.
A classical footed urn with ancient appeal.
Classic fluted urns with handcrafted bone tiles.
An ornament mirror with Greek key fretwork.
(Next Up: Asian Fusion-What could that be?)

The 2010 Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan saw an emergence of Watermelon Pink in home accents! It’s forecasted to be the favored accent color for 2011.
My little birdie failed to send me the exact Watermelon Pink color, so the following pictures are a guess of what it may look like.
These rooms definitely do pink right!

At the Internazionale del Mobile in Milan, Gold paired with Slate Grey was voted cutest couple! I kid.
Gold mixed with Slate Grey appeared as the more sophisticated version of the Yellow/Grey duo that’s been so popular. (Yellow and Grey is forecasted to remain big for AT LEAST the next year!) The golds for 2011 go beyond the typical Tuscany look and are said to be “remaking luxury with understated sparkle.”
