DIY: Fall Potpourri Party Favors (Autumn in a Jar)

Scents tend to bring back memories of seasons the most. Lemonade brings back memories of summer, the smell of cocoa reminds me of Christmas, and cinnamon smells like the Autumn/Halloween season. This potpourri recipe encompasses all of the scents of autumn in a jar, including cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves, plus some apple and oranges. It would make a great party favor for this fall, and a fun gift for family and friends. It’s very easy, and the finished product looks really cute. Design Inspiration: I ♥ Sprinkles and Confetti

Lately, I find myself stopping to take a second glance at the confetti and sprinkles filling my Pinterest stream. I wish I could throw a fun, frilly party for no reason – just so I had an excuse to play with glitter, paper, and ribbon. Maybe I could start planning Josephine’s birthday party? Too bad Dallan doesn’t believe in 1-year-old birthday parties. Do any of your husbands hate them too? View full post »

Fashion: The Colors of Fall

I’ve dedicated a post to seasonal color trends in fashion ever since I have been a member of this blog– why would I stop now? So, let’s talk fall! Pantone studied common themes among designers of New York Fashion Week, and these were the most popular hues for the upcoming season. My favorites? The Ultramarine Green and Tangerine Tango. Oh heck, I love them all.
