Josephine is in love with all things melon: Cantaloupe, Honeydew, Watermelon. Between Josephine and I, we can’t seem to keep enough melon on hand these days. I frequently call Dallan, right before he gets off work, to ask him to stop by the store for more. We may go broke.

Last night, Dallan’s brother and sister in-law were over for dinner. As we sat around the table discussing Josephine’s melon fetish, we got on the subject of cantaloupe sorbet. This was my inspiration for today’s baby food concoction.

The verdict? Josephine is in LOVE with this recipe. She eats it between the appetizer and first course, to cleanse her palate. View full post »

Today, I found myself avoiding work and surfing the internet for inspiration. As I was hopping from site to site, I stumbled upon a stunning blog (amorelou). One of her posts highlighted a stunning office that was highlighted on Weekday Carnival.

After viewing the photos of this office space, I’ve decided it’s time to give mine a little make-over again. My biggest decorating problem is that I love too many things. Do any of you struggle with this issue?

Josephine & Bebe

This week, Josephine noticed a picture of Bebe that we have hanging in our hallway – yes, we’re dog people. As soon as she realized the bug eyed Boston Terrier in the photo was her own poodle-bear, she squealed gleefully and started bouncing in my arms.

The next morning, I found her making out with Bebe in the family room. Josephine had her mouth open as wide as it would go, and Bebe was excitedly licking the insides of her cheeks.

I have a feeling it’s going to be hard keeping them off each other. It’s only just begun…

Scents tend to bring back memories of seasons the most. Lemonade brings back memories of summer, the smell of cocoa reminds me of Christmas, and cinnamon smells like the Autumn/Halloween season. This potpourri recipe encompasses all of the scents of autumn in a jar, including cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves, plus some apple and oranges. It would make a great party favor for this fall, and a fun gift for family and friends. It’s very easy, and the finished product looks really cute.
