Practical verses Pop! Two different approaches to designing your living space. The Practicals mistakenly think that everything they put into their home decor needs to be very functional and comfort friendly. They are afraid to add a little Pop! Living life on the design edge is unthinkable. The Pop! person loves to see how daring they can be by adding things into their decor that are edgy with an artistic flair.

The fact is that you don’t have to pick one over the other. You can easily blend the Practical with the Pop!  Recently I came across some great chairs that are the perfect blend of Practical and Pop! And I thought I’d share how easy it is to do.

    Audrey Cooper - I agree, each room needs a focal point or a “Pop” and sometimes a fun chair is the perfect choice for a room.

Last year, my food processor died a slow and painful death. This tragedy made me realize how much I relied on my food processor. I would constantly pull it out to puree soups, slice strawberries, blend salsas, etc. Instead of purchasing a new food processor, I limped along with my hand blender. Then last month, on a routine trip to Costco, I broke down and purchased a new food processor. (Queue music)  Reunited and it feels so good! One of the first things I made to break in my food processor was this homemade Salsa Verde recipe. I concocted this salsa recipe a couple of years ago, and it’s one of my favorites to make.

Over the summer months, our garden produces an abundance of zucchini and jalapeno. In an attempt to not waste perfectly good food, I’ve tried to come up with creative ways to incorporate these two vegetables into our menu. This recipe did a good job accomplishing that. Serve it with some salsa and you have yourself a deliciously healthy breakfast or dinner option.

    Kayla - Sooo let me get this straight-

    You have a small child. You own your company and work a ton. You do crafty stuff. AND you have a garden that actually produces food for you??

    I feel like kind of a slacker.
