I wore my first skirt of the season to school yesterday. I’m pretty sure my legs were angry with me, considering they aren’t ready to be out in the open after hibernating all winter. I couldn’t help but love the feeling of femininity that the skirt gave me, so I wore it anyways.
I often get the, “Well aren’t you dressed up!” comment, but in all honesty I am just more comfortable in a dress or skirt. I recently stumbled upon the most gorgeous vintage floral dress, and it confirmed my decision to wear such items even with the awkward comments I receive. Although it was made with such a wild garden-themed print, it looks dainty and charming, which are the exact things I look for in a dress. I wish I could clone it for Easter this year.
Secret Squirrel has a delightful Botanica collection that is a bit more modern than the dress above. I thought the prints were pretty and some of the solid pieces are even more dazzling. And don’t get me started on their winter 2012 collection– be still my heart!
Oh, and did you know that Anthropologie has a Garden Party themed section on their site? Florals are where it’s at I guess. Plus, let us not forget that floral prints are way less maintenance than the real thing– a good excuse to buy some!
