Call me a bad wife, or call me brilliant, but for the past four Christmases I have been quick to jump on the “no-couples-gifts” bandwagon… a.k.a. Eric and I have never given Christmas gifts to one another. However, this year I told him I would like to do a small gift swap– baby steps, people! Only time can tell if our plans will follow through. Either way, I have been scanning the Internet for some inspiration, and really enjoyed some ideas over at the Old Faithful Shop.

  1. Sewing Kit
  2. Canadian Wool Blanket
  3. Sling Shot
  4. Soldered Terrarium
  5. How To Be A Man Book
  6. Screwdriver
  7. Backpack

If any of you are curious about the sewing kit, Eric has a small kit with needles and mini scissors that he kept with him while living in India. He still has it, and he still whips it out for random fixes. I really like the manly aesthetic the sewing kit above has.

Oh, and how about the “How To Be A Man” book? Totally awesome. It’s a lifelong process for them… only kidding!

What do Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Christmas and New Years have in common? Parties and events! The season of holiday parties is upon us, so its time to start thinking about styling up. Being that Kiersten is by far the most stylish out of us girls, she has graciously agreed to share her tips for styling up. What’s so great about Kiersten is that she can go from wham to BAM within 30 seconds! Although she doesn’t have to try very hard to look glam, she has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to great products, cheap finds, and the do’s and do nots of style.

So without further ado…. check out her first Styling Up! video. If the above paragraph didn’t convince you that you NEED to click play, then check out this picture!

I know. I know. We all love to hate how beautiful this picture is.

What most of you don’t know is that it took Dallan and I quite awhile to conceive our “little germ” (that’s what Michael has nicknamed this baby).  After almost a year of “trying”, it was obvious to the two of us that something was wrong.  Fortunately for us, after meeting with a fertility specialist, we learned our problems were fixable with the help of modern day medicine.  If any of you are looking for a good doctor, let me know.

Since the road to getting pregnant took a little longer than expected, it has left me relishing every moment of this pregnancy.  Although the morning sickness and headaches weren’t fun, they were a nice reminder that I actually had a little being growing inside of me. And even though my body is getting “soft” I’ve learned to enjoy my expanding waistline (instead of feeling self conscious).

In the past two weeks, I’ve entered what I call the “Is she pregnant?” stage.  You know the stage were people look at you and wonder, “Is she pregnant? Or has she just gained some weight?”. In this stage of pregnancy, I’ve learned you’ve got to get a little creative with your fashion choices.  It’s all about creating an illusion. Lately, I’ve been pairing a lot of loose fitting blouses with small cardigans, jackets and stretchy fabric pants.  Here are some of my favorite things for the “Is She Pregnant?” Stage.

What are some of the fashions you’ve used to create an illusion?
