When I started to work on this blog post I knew that I wanted to find a fairy-tale themed wedding that was different and unusual. One that didn’t necessarily center around Cinderella, handsome princes or castle shaped cakes. While stories that end in “happily ever after” are great sources of inspiration-they’ve been done many times.That’s why I wanted to focus more on the “fairy” part of fairy-tale. Thanks to Wedding Inspirasi I found this conceptualized wedding theme done by event designer Tricia Fountaine and photographed by Elizabeth Messina.
A Royal Faerie and Elf Wedding is every little girl’s fairy-tale fantasy realized. Set in an enchanted forest, every aspect of this shoot is outstanding: the dresses, head pieces, decor, makeup, owls… So perfectly dreamy. Definitely different and unusual.

While I can’t imagine any groom dressing like this for his wedding day-I do love the outdoor details in this “wedding”. The chandelier dressed with greenery, tassels and garlands of crystals is incredibly beautiful. And the thought of walking down a forest path does seem ultra romantic.
Who would have thought that a moss adorned pillow would be the perfect way to carry the glass box holding the wedding ring? And I like the groom’s ring {look closely above all those feathers and you’ll see it.} Wouldn’t mind having one styled like that for myself.
This table setting took my breath away. The colors stand out when surrounded by the green of the forest foliage and the mixture of textures are a work of art-velvet cushion set on top of tree stumps, branches adorned with flowers, moss and fabric runners. {However, the bride and groom also took my breath away. And the owl frightens me a little too. But artistically, this is a very good looking couple!}
Flowers, and butterflies and ribbons….oh my. The perfect things for the bridesmaids to wear for a Midsummer Night’s Dream wedding.
Flower head wreaths are the ultimate accessories-along with wings- for the wedding party as well. And for the daring bridal attendant-turquoise eyeshadow?
For the forest fairies that are an essential part of the wedding party- woodland themed attire.
So what do you think of this wedding idea? Personally, I think that William Shakespeare would be honored to have his literary work serve as the inspiration for this “fairy-tale” wedding.

Since we are celebrating popcorn day this week, I thought it would be fitting to share some popcorn wedding ideas. I know, I know… I never thought popcorn and wedding could be in the same sentence either! In fact, I swore popcorn would make a wedding look classless and tacky. Boy, was I wrong…

Another idea I saw was a popcorn bar. Like so:

And, if you are feeling really crazy, you could even throw some popcorn as the couple is leaving– instead of rice, bubbles, or sparklers.
POP-TASTIC!!
